Katrina Nguyen is currently a Biomedical Engineering graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University studying motor neuroscience research. Her introduction to behavioral neuroscience research was in 2016 while working at the National Institute of Health. There she was studying disease state neural circuitry (such as obesity and addiction) in animal models. In doing this work with the NIH she realized 1) that standard research equipment is expensive, and 2) that standard research equipment has limited flexibility. And so Katrina turned to the open source world for a better solution. Hackaday Superconference: The greatest gathering of hardware hackers, builders, engineers and enthusiasts on the planet returns.
