The Dirty Sanchez mine is a very old and historic mine, likely dating back to the 1870s. It was first developed by the Juno Group and later separated from the Juno property in the 1950s.
The mine is developed on a well defined lode of gold ore that bears native gold and some sulphide silver. Surveyors documented many small veins with gold and iron stained quartz.
The northern portion of the mine was closed somewhere around the 1920s because of water intrustion in the mine. It has likely not been accessed since. Pumping out that water would be well worth it to access workings that have not been seen in at least 80 years.
The Dirty Sanchez is an excellent mine for small miners, as the ores are clearly defined and easily worked. Gold ore from the mine can be crushed and then panned with little to no machinery.
