Phillip Sear plays a 'schizzo musicale' (musical sketch) from 1913 by the Sicilian composer Francesco Paolo Frontini (1860-1939).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sicilian composer Francesco Paolo Frontini (1860-1939) was born in Catania. He studied in Palermo and Naples and is remembered today for his operas and church music - but principally for songs and shorter orchestral pieces. This piece follows the musical tradition for such duets by having the melody in the treble register with interjections from the tenor register. For more information on Frontini, see http://frontini.altervista.org/index.htm . My thumbnail shows Gerrit van Honthorst's 1622 painting 'The Duet'.
