Fixing a jammed Singer Simple 2263 sewing machine

Our Singer Simple 3116 suddenly became hard to turn by hand or the motor. I removed the plastic cases, left side with one screw, bottom with four screws, and front with three screws - one on the left with a thread guide and one by each end of the handle, then pulled the large front cover off, rotating it along the top. I put oil in each of the three oil holes and the machine became easy to turn . One oil hole is at the bottom end of the connecting rod. I do NOT recommend loosening the allen screw. The other oil holes are near the ends of the top shaft.
