(5 Sep 2016) The first official results in the Hong Kong legislative elections came in on Monday, with four of the six winning seats in the district of Kowloon West going to pro-democracy candidates.
The remaining two candidates were supporters of Beijing.
The vote is the most pivotal since the handover from Britain in 1997, and could set the stage for a fresh round of political confrontations over Beijing's control of the city.
