Firefighters Battle Fire In West Side Modesto, California - Modesto News

This afternoon at around 12:15 p.m. firefighters from the Burbank-Paradise Fire District were called to a house on Turner St. between Florette Ave. and Mayette Ave. in Modesto's West Side Neighborhood after 911 Operators began receiving calls reporting a fire. When the fire crews arrived on the scene they found a fire in the alley way behind the house. The fire had already spread to two out buildings at the rear of the property. Firefighters called out a "Second Alarm" and the Modesto Regional Fire Authority was called to the scene in order to aid in the fire fight. Firefighters were able to hold the fire to the two buildings at the rear of the property saving the home it's self and all the surrounding houses. One of the buildings was completely destroyed while the second sustained lesser damage. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation. No one was injured during the fire and fire fight.
