Evolution of the SSR International Airport

The video depicts the changes that have been made to the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport.The new terminal of the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, covers a total surface area of 57 000 m2. In the future, it will handle 4 million passengers annually against 2.7 million presently. In line with its project of Maurice Ile Durable, the airport's infrastructure is equipped with an environmental and ecological dimension. Its architecture is in glass and steel, the use of solar energy is collected by photovoltaic cells, rainwater recovery and green space boarding gates of which one is A380 compatible, 26 immigration counters, five telescopic passenger boarding bridges, five baggage claim carrousels, a new aircraft parking area and a land side car park located in front of the building.
