East African Community's plan to further boost trade

Deepening trade ties amongst East African countries has been one of the core mandates of the East African Community (EAC). Since the establishment of the customs union about ten years ago, trade in the EAC increased threefold and the creation of a single customs territory framework is expected to further boost trade.
