Another beautiful day in Westport, WA. Jessica and I went crabbing for red rock and dungeness crab. It was our first time taking a crab pot as we usually just bring a crab ring. We ended up with 6 keeper dungeness crab, and 1 keeper red rock crab. We used the red rock crab to make Korean Bean Paste Soup, a soup I ate growing up as a kid. Being able to catch the crab fresh from the ocean and cook a dish that has nostalgic value was an awesome experience. *NOTE* We accidently measured the crabs incorrectly. Luckily, the minimum measurement was 6.00 inches, and not 6.25 inches. Do not make the mistake we did and measure incorrectly as you may get fined. The correct way to measure is to not include the end points. You want to measure from the top of the end points. Check out the wdfw regulations to ensure you measure correctly!
