Drama in Bulenga as controversial Buyende district Police boss Muhammed Kirumira is arrested

Embattled Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira who already faces a raft of service offences has been charged in the Police Disciplinary Court with an additional case of subjudice. He was remanded until 6th February. Earlier in the morning, police and other plain clothes security operatives dramatically arrested Kirumira from his residence in Bulenga, Wakiso amidst heightened tension. He was forced to surrender from his house after a long standoff which ended with police officers cutting his door and breaking the glass panes. Last week, Kirumira was charged in the Police Disciplinary Court in Kampala with several cases, including misconduct and torture.
