Divine Liturgy Celebrated in Erebuni Detention Facility

On April 24 Fr. Rouben Zargaryan, Head Chaplain of the Prison Ministry Program of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Erebuni Detention Facility. The Holy Resurrection Church has been built by the inmates on the grounds of the Facility. The Prison Ministry Program of the Armenian Church was started under the Pontificate of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians. The program was created through a joint collaboration with the government of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian Church. This newly created program is run in cooperation with and within the frames and jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice Department. Գարեգին Բ. Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի օրհնությամբ Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցին ՀՀ Կառավարության հետ համատեղ սկսեց իրականացնել Քրեակատարողական հիմնարկների հոգեւոր սպասավորությունը: Ծրագիրը գործում է ՀՀ Արդարադատության նախարարության իրավասության ներքո:
