Direct flights to Langkawi, Malaysia | Marella Cruises

In December 2018 TUI launched the UK’s first direct flight from Manchester to Langkawi in Malaysia. Passengers were jetting off to board a Marella Cruises sailing – one of our brand-new itineraries around Asia. We wanted to make the flight as memorable as possible for our customers, so we pulled out all the stops to surprise them. We decorated the check-in desk with balloons and traditional Malaysian lanterns, and customers were treated to champagne and a Marella goodie bag, plus a Marella ship-shaped cake. It was a perfect replica of our ship Marella Discovery. Plus, Chris Hackney, Managing Director of Marella Cruises arrived before take-off to wish everyone a great holiday. Once all the guests had boarded the plane, we had one last surprise – 12 dancers took to the aisles to perform a traditional Malaysian dance.
