Deuteronomy 20:4 (NLT) 'For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’' We live in a time where there is much adversity and frustration and the consequences of that reality is conflict between people. This is something that is inevitable. Let me tell you that God expects His people to handle their disagreements biblically and much differently than those who do not follow Him. In Deuteronomy 20 we are given some several guidelines for resolving conflict. All of them are through Him. When you are headed towards battle, when conflict arises, remember that the Lord is your shield. And you may need to take a moment to duck behind your shield, say a quick prayer, before engaging. See, you may be thinking, but Mike, I am not going into battle with anyone, I’m just going to work today… and then you are stuck behind someone going twenty miles per hour… in the fast lane… and you are trying to merge, and just trying to get your kids to school this morning. And suddenly you ARE doing battle. You know what I’m talking about. You may consider that listen… I’m not going into battle… and then you open your Facebook feed, and it’s time to tune into today's, social media political experts… and you can’t escape the opinions of keyboard warriors everywhere… they are lining the turrets of the Facebook Wall to zing arrows at you. And you need to lift up your shield, and listen to what he is telling you… do not engage the enemy. So the moral is when you listen to God.
