Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga River. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple and is probably the most spectacular ghat. Two Hindu lengeds are associated with it: According to one, Lord Brahma createdit to welcome Lord Shiva. Brahma sacrificed ten houses during Dasa-Ashwamedha yajna.
A group of priests daily in yhe evening at this gat perform "Agni Pooja"(Workship to Fire) wherein a dedication is made to Lord Shiva,River Ganga(The Ganges),Surya(sun),Agni(Fire),and the whole universe. Special aartis are held on Tuesdays and on religious festivals.
Ganga aarti is the magnificent event during evening in the Varanasi that one most not miss to see it. It makes us to experience the great feelings while Ganga aarti become process.
All the priest who have to perform tha aarti,wear same cloth, the dhoti and kurta which is tightly bind with a long towel.
