Police said a CVS assistant store manager was shot Tuesday morning while emptying the trash in the 4500 block of Troost Avenue. Officers were called to the drugstore at about 8:15 a.m. The assistant manager told police that he had been shot by a man who asked him for change as he walked out the back door of the store to empty the trash. The employee said he thought the man was homeless. The victim said as he went to pull out his money, the man shot him several times in the leg saying, "This is what you get for kicking me and my boys out." The 45-year-old assistant manager was taken to a hospital in serious condition. He is expected to survive. Police have not found the shooter. He is described as a 25-year-old black man with a medium build. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and has scraggly facial hair. The man had on a beige T-shirt, dark jeans and a black ball cap.
