I was verbally abused by so called friends and family. But enough about my childhood let’s talk about what really matters.
You are reading this because you want answers. So what qualifies me to talk about low self esteem and tell you how to get rid of it? The answer is: I am just like you. I had low self esteem, wishing I was dead, punishing myself. I read books and spoke to therapist while I was in school about how to get rid of this curse. I am just like you. I had low self esteem and now I am free of it. I can promise you that by the end of this article you will have a better idea of how to increase your low self esteem.
So here it goes.
What is low self esteem?
We need to get this question out of the way so that we can have a better understanding. Self esteem is self worth. Worth that many people and the media is trying to take from you. Self esteem is self love. Self is how much you value yourself if you didn’t have money, material possessions and if people didn’t like you. Would you still like yourself if no one liked you, if you had no money, if you didn’t have many material possessions such as nice cars.
That is what self esteem is. Knowing that you have value regardless of what you have or don’t have. The media tells you that you need to have a nice cars, big houses and that you have to look a certain way so that people will like you and be accepted. Are you of any worth if you didn’t have all these nice things or if you didn’t look like a Hollywood celebrity? If you are of no worth without such things then only the Donald Trumps and rich people of the world have value.
Are you worth it? Do you love yourself one hundred percent? Do you accept yourself one hundred percent? Do you think that the things you have define who you are as a person and the value that you have? Does the person working at McDonalds not have as much worth as some celebrity?
