Burmese Noodles: Khodaong Mohntee & Nunjee Khao Swè

Breakfast at a busy traditional noodle stall near the central market Zegyo in Mandalay, Myanmar. Vendors of this style of rice noodle salad with only fish and dried shrimp, instead of the usual chicken, come from Khodaong Village across the Ayeyarwady by boat, and most are still street-hawkers carrying their popular but humble fare in basket-trays balanced on the head. Our meal, for a party of four plus two "parcels", was paid for by a friend of one of us we bumped in to, one with the bling on her arm.
