Bridge Demolition at Four Mile Run

Arlington County Vice Chair Jay Fisette, Congressman Jim Moran, Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille, developers and others were on hand to mark the demolition of an old railroad bridge over Four Mile Run, near Route 1 and Potomac Avenue. Removal of the bridge will usher in a healthy new waterfront for Arlington and Alexandria as part of the Four Mile Run Restoration Master Plan. The Four Mile Run Restoration Master Plan is a blueprint for transforming this area into an active and lively waterfront that connects Arlington and Alexandria. Demolishing the bridge is a key step in the long-term plan to re-build and restore Four Mile Run, its surrounding community, and its ecology.
