Borderlands 2: Patched Elephant Gun- Does it still suck?

The Elephant Gun is a unique Jakobs sniper rifle from the third campaign DLC for Borderlands 2- Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. It has a very high damage on the weapon card, but is a very slow fire rate sniper, with a low mag size, and an awful reload speed. Without the community patch, it is a terrible weapon and one that was absolutely disappointing to find and use. Obviously it looks cool- and I like the idea, but it was just performed so poorly. The community patch adds a significant amount more damage, which at least allows it to do the most damage on a traditional critical hit shot. It no longer sucks, which is awesome. It is still not great with Critical Ascension, but would probably be a decent sniper to keep around if you're playing without Critical Ascension and just want a weapon to massive damage in deception. It is still fairly weak in comparison to a lot of other Jakobs snipers.
