According to the Washington Post, hundreds of gunmen disguised as soldiers attacked the village in Konduga, about 35 kilometers away from the Borno state capital of Maiduguri. The attackers in trucks stormed the village at about 6 p.m. and used homemade bombs to set over 1,000 homes ablaze. The attack went on for hours. A mosque, markets and government buildings were also destroyed by the gunmen, according to AFP. More than 701 percent of the village had been destroyed. Another four people were killed in the village of Wajirko in Borno on the same day. Around 50 homes were destroyed in the village, AFP reported. Boko Haram wants to create a strict Islamic state in Nigeria's mainly Muslim north. They have killed thousands of the past four and a half years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Media Animation's News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D animated news graphics that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health.
