Blender compiled with Jack support:
Just enable Jack in user-config.py and download the -dev libraries of jackd.
Jackd setup:
frame/periods = 1024 (so that blender doesn't crash)
Periods/Buffer = 4
Running with standard kernel, not rt, but with the ubuntu studio preparation tricks ( https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuStudioPreparation )
Basically, adding these 3 lines to /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf
@audio - rtprio 99
@audio - memlock unlimited
@audio - nice -19

This was recorded running kde4 with composite effects enabled, Blender, Ardour, Audacity to record the audio and gtk-recordmydesktop recording at 1920x1200!!! In a 2 years old AMD Phenom x4.
