46115 'Scots Gaurdsman' Is seen out on it's final run before being withdrawn for overhaul. With a full matching rake of 13 maroon coaches and the Thames Clyde Express headboard, the Scot was going out in style and the weather even played it's part for it's final leg ! The opening shot sees me attempt a high up shot looking down towards Garsdale and towards Dent. Fortunately I only just made it in time, due to a miss calculation on how long it would take to climb up, so the end results wasn't what I was hoping for, though with such a spectacular field of vision, I couldn't quite declare this as an outtake ! For the return leg there was a dramatic change in conditions, so I headed to Birkett Common, which is possibly the most photographed spot across the S&C, and at 17.55pm the Scot can be seen and heard roaring it's way southwards towards Ais Gill while basking in some stunning evening conditions which rewarded all who had made the effort to see off the Scot.
