Blaming herself for her kingdom's suffering, Ganda vows to make things right. She then consents to wed Lakam to solidify the alliance between the farmers and the traders. Sarimaw remains eager to rule over the mortals. He then makes a deal with Apo to see if the mortals rightfully deserve their freedom.The rampaging giant wreaks havoc in Sansinukob, forcing the mortals to flee for their lives. Exposing the mortals' unwillingness to sacrifice themselves to save their fellowmen, Sarimaw urges Apo to let him rule over the mortals. However, Sarimaw finds out that five brave warriors had stepped up to his challenge. Refusing to accept defeat, Sarimaw enhances the giant's strength. Apo then retaliates against his fellow guardian by imbuing the courageous mortals with otherworldly powers that help them go toe-to-toe with Sarimaw's giant.
