During an earnings call on Tuesday, via a report from THR, Disney head Bob Iger commented on the success of Infinity War and Marvel, promising new franchises in the MCU post Avengers 4 while also teasing more Avengers movies to come:
According to Deadline, Burt Reynolds is in talks to play George Spahn in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The director is also in early discussions with his The Hateful Eight co-stars Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Michael Madsen to play smaller roles in the movie as well.
LAIKA President and CEO Travis Knight revealed at Cannes that their next movie will be entitled: Missing Link. It’s the fifth film from the studio, that has Hugh Jackman, Zoe Saldana, and Zach Galifianakis on board to voice, along with the announcement of supporting cast of Emma Thompson, Stephen Fry, Timothy Olyphant, Matt Lucas, David Walliams, Amrita Acharia and Ching Valdes-Aran; led by writer/director Chris Butler.
THR is reporting that Damian Szifron, who co-wrote the script and was to direct the movie the Six Billion Dollar Man, starring Mark Wahlberg, has dropped out of the project. The movie was due to begin shooting this summer and despite the loss of director, THR says the studio is intent on keeping its schedule, and will immediately look for another filmmaker. No reason was give for the departure.
At a recent appearance by Tenacious D at the Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend (via The Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Jack Black announced to the crowd that a Tenacious D movie sequel is in the works. He said: “I don’t know where you’ll be able to see it, but we have decided that it’s happening and it’s coming out.” No details or formal announcements have been made at this time.
