Avengers: Infinity War climbed past $450 million domestically this weekend and reached (well over) $1 billion worldwide in a record-setting 11 days. It dropped 56.4% in ticket sales with $112.5 and No 1 spot, also delivering the second-largest second weekend domestic box office ever, just ahead of Black Panther.
According to Variety: Solo: A Star Wars Story tickets went on sale just in time for Star Wars Day on May 4th, and within the first 24 hours, doubled the ticket presales of Black Panther. The Star Wars spin-off sold enough tickets to have the second-best first day of presales in 2018.
Meanwhile Ron Howard has confirmed to Fandango that if Solo: A Star Wars Story breaks the box office, Solo sequels are definitely a possibility. Howard stressed that at the moment, there aren’t any definite plans for Solo sequels. But if the audience reaction to the film is big enough, you can expect Disney and Lucasfilm to start making plans.
According to Deadline, Sylvester Stallone is set to return for a fifth installment in the Rambo franchise, with Deadline also hearing he may direct. Stallone also working on the script. The story: when the daughter of one of Rambo’s friends is kidnapped, Rambo, who has been working on a ranch, crosses the U.S.-Mexican border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
EW reports that Paramount Pictures has tapped twice Oscar-nominated actor John Lithgow to play the part of Jud Crandall in the new Pet Sematary remake. He’ll join already cast Jason Clarke, in the movie that is set for an April 19, 2019 and directed by Starry Eyes helmers Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, from a script by Jeff Buhler.
