Professor Triggs, who has been the President of the Australian Human Rights Commission since August 2012, has been a vocal supporter of the value of education as a human right, the responsibility of the Australian business community to recognise and realise human rights, the importance of ending mandatory detention and the impartiality of the Australian Human Rights Commission.
