AHRC Commissioner Edward Santow Wriggles Out on Male Circumcision

?? Here I am reading aloud Edward Santow's "wriggling out" letter. Recently, I asked newly installed President of the Australian Human Rights Commission, Rosalind Croucher, whether genital integrity was a fundamental right for male children. Judging by Human Rights Commissioner Edward Santow's response to me, on behalf of the Commission, the answer is a resounding no. So Croucher, Santow, National Children's Commissioner Megan Mitchell and Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins will all continue to turn their backs on boys being made subject to Male Genital Mutilation. How "noble" and "valiant" they are! What "champions of children's rights" they are! Clearly, genital integrity is not a fundamental human right if you are of the male gender. Interestingly, the RSPCA told me that it's illegal to circumcise an animal of any gender, whether it be male, female or intersex. My foreskin was made mincemeat of, by some circumciser, but a dog is allowed to keep his. ?? Male Genital Mutilation is deliberate genitourinary injury, and is both neurotraumatic and psychotraumatic. It is gender-based violence perpetrated upon defenceless and non-consenting male children, all because they are born male! So the Australian Human Rights Commission "has not taken a policy position on male circumcision"--even though Australia is bound by, and a co-signatory to, international human rights instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political rights, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The AHRC definitely has a policy position on FGM and also a policy position on rights of underaged intersex children to be free from permanently mutilating gender reassignment surgeries. So the AHRC treat male children differently to female or intersex children. That is misandry--the hatred of men and boys. They treat male children in a differential and unfavourable manner. The Human Rights Commission, itself, is part of the Male Genital Mutilation problem. As long as they refuse to defend boys' rights to genital integrity, as long as they remain complicit, male children will continue to have their human rights violated.
