A huge wildfire has been burning in the Silverado Canyon in Orange County since Wednesday.

Strong, dry have fanned the flames causing huge damage to the Southern California area.

Smoke from the flames is visible for miles around and is affecting the breathing quality of the air.

So far, the fire has destroyed a huge amount of woodland and potentially several homes.

It is believed to have originated as a house fire which quickly spread to dry bushland.

Fire crews are scrambling to contain the flames both in the air and on the ground.

Southern California Edison have cut power to about 15,000 homes and businesses.
