Firefighters are battling new wildfires in Napa County, as blazes continue to rage across California.

Shocking aerial footage shows planes dropping water and fire retardant over the flames.

One of the fires is burning near several wineries, and has already scorched 1.25 square miles.

The new fires led to the evacuation of thousands of residents before dawn, and thousands more have been placed on high alert.

The flames have ravaged numerous homes and other buildings in Napa and Sonoma counties.

So far this year, over 8,000 California wildfires have burned 5,600 square miles, destroyed more than 7,000 buildings and killed 26 people.
