USA: Elizabeth Holmes appears in court for her criminal fraud trial

Former CEO of health technology company Theranos, Elizabeth Holmes, appeared in court in San Jose on Thursday, as a jury deliberated her criminal fraud charges.
Holmes, who’s free on bail, appeared in court as the jury re-listened audio recordings of her 2013 investor pitch.
Holmes is accused of knowingly misleading investors, doctors, and patients about the company’s blood-testing capabilities. The company claimed it could test for several medical conditions with just a few drops of blood from a finger prick.
The trial has been long delayed, including for the birth of her child. Her company, which had attracted high-profile investors and partnerships, had once been valued at $9 billion (€7.9 billion)
No verdict has been reached, and the jury is expected to continue deliberating on Monday.
