UK: Fire at plastics factory fills sky with black smoke near Hull

Plumes of black smoke rose into the sky after fire broke out at Thompsons Plastics factory, in the town of Hessle, near Hull on Wednesday.

According to local reports, emergency services arrived to the scene at 16:00 local time (16:00 GMT).

In a statement on twitter, local fire department Humberside Fire & Rescue urged local residents to keep doors and windows closed and to avoid the area if possible.
