Super Typhoon Noru is currently making landfall on the Philippine island of Luzon.

“We ask residents living in danger zones to heed evacuation calls when necessary,” said the head of the Philippine National Police.
Residents of some municipalities along the east coast evacuated their homes and sought shelter as the storm approached. Ferries and fishing boats are also prohibited from leaving the port.
The hole comes nine months after another super typhoon devastated large parts of the country, killing more than 400 people and leaving hundreds of thousands homeless.
a state weather bureau forecaster said Noru’s rapid intensification as it neared land was “unprecedented.”
