Officers from the National Police of Peru donned festive disguises for a drugs raid in the capital, Lima.

Dressed as Santa and an elf, the pair used a sledgehammer to break down the door of a local drugs kingpin in the neighbourhood of Villa El Salvador.

They arrested the leader of a gang called ‘Los Flaquis’, The Skinnies, who was found with drugs and firearms at his home.

Authorities said the use of disguises is an effective strategy for drug busts like this one, where the element of surprise is crucial.
