Russia: MAKS-2021 air show concludes at Moscow region"s Zhukovsky airport

The sixth day of military and civil aircraft demonstrations at the XV International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021 ended at Zhukovsky airport in the Moscow region on Sunday.

The aerobatic group of the Russian Air Force ‘Strizhi’ with nine MiG-29 fighters opened the show on the morning of the sixth day.

According to the official MAKS-2021 AirShow Telegram channel, MiG-29 fighters’ pilots demonstrated aerobatic stunts such as ‘pyramid’, ‘arrow’, ‘spear’, ‘star’, group and synchronous ‘barrel roll’, group ‘Nesterov loops’, ‘mirror’ and some others.

The stunts were also performed by the crews of the Berkuts on Mi-28NE helicopters, the ‘Russkie Vityazi’ on Su-35S fighters, and the ‘First Flight’ on light piston aircraft.

The Indian Sarang group on four ALH Dhruv helicopters also took part in the flight program of the final MAKS-2021 day.

According to the official MAKS-2021 Telegram channel, an experimental Yak-40 aircraft performed for the first time at MAKS-2021 with the world’s first superconducting electric aircraft engine as part of a hybrid power device.

According to reports, 831 companies from 56 countries took part in MAKS-2021. The demonstration program included 202 aircraft in flight and static.

More than 135 thousand people attended the show.

According to MAKS-2021, the next such event will be held for the 16th time in the summer of 2023 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region.
