Japan: Heavy snowfall causes power outages, disrupts travel near Hikone

Locals living in Taga, Shiga Prefecture, were met with heavy snowfall on Tuesday which led to travel disruption and power outages.
As a result of the snow, more than 100 domestic flights were grounded on Sunday in the northern and western parts of the country, and with the Meterological Agency warning residents to refrain from non-essential outings.
Blackouts were also reported due to accumulation of snow on power cables. Wind and low temperatures are expected for the next few days.
