At least one man died following a tornado and mass flooding in Eastern Sicily on Wednesday. Footage filmed from a helicopter over Augusta near Syracuse shows flooded residential areas full of debris and stranded vehicles.

In late October, three people died following heavy flooding near the city of Catania.
