Smoke was seen billowing from the mountains near the village of Shoresh overlooking a highway to Jerusalem on Monday after a massive blaze swept through the area.

Helicopters and fire engines could be seen battling the fires amid the smoke while firefighters attempted to extinguish the blaze.

Rescue services reportedly said that the residential building nearby were no longer in danger.
Wildfires continued to spread into the forest hills outside Jerusalem on Monday in what’s been reported as the largest such blaze in the region for years.
