Germany: Thousands march against COVID restrix in Frankfurt

Around 8,000 people took to the streets of Frankfurt on Saturday to protest against compulsory vaccination and measures put in the place by the government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

Counter-protesters could be seen holding signs mocking COVID-scepticism as the march walked past.

Similar rallies were held throughout Germany on Saturday.

According to the latest available data from Friday, compiled by the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Resource Centre, Germany has seen over 52,600 new daily cases of COVID-19 with 269 related deaths. Over 71 percent of the country’s population is currently fully vaccinated.
