Police and protesters clashed at the eviction of the occupied Kopi caravan park, in Berlin on Friday.

Police and protesters could be seen fighting, before police used pepper spray on demonstrators. Police also used an assortment of armoured vehicles and angle grinders to gain entry to the site before bringing out the squatters one by one.

A demonstration on Kopenicker Strasse was attended by approximately 500 protestors. Around 2,000 officers were in attendance. 21 arrests were made, according to local reports.

Kopi Platz was a caravan park that has housed over 50 people for decades. The car park was occupied first in 1990 alongside the adjoining building, which is the famous Kopi squat. The Kopi squat is not in immediate danger of eviction.
