Dozens of activists marched through Berlin on Saturday, protesting violence against women and women’s empowerment.

Protesters carried signs with slogans such as ‘Women are no victims - rise up,’ among others and expressed solidarity with the #MeToo movement.

“In addition to the everyday structural violence, women worldwide suffer the most in wars and crises for example in Afghanistan, Palestine, Ethiopia,” said Nataly Jung-Hwa Han, chairperson of the NGO ‘AG Trostfrauen’ Berlin. “We have to defend ourselves against natural and climate catastrophes and especially the corona pandemic, against the exploitation and the oppression of women.’‘
