France: Parisians bid farewell to late Jean-Paul Belmondo with funeral procession

A funeral procession brought the coffin of the late star and iconic French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo to a church in Paris on Friday, following his death on Monday.
The funeral began at 11:00 (local time; 10:00 GMT) at the Saint-Germain-des-Pres church in Paris. Hundreds of fans and reporters saw celebrity guests among the mourners, such as Alain Delon and director Claude Lelouch.
“Today, I came here even though I am very ill to pay tribute to Belmondo,” said Sylvain, a fan.
Belmondo passed away in Paris at the age of eighty-eight after suffering a repeated stroke.

My wife told me: ‘You go where? You are sick!’, I told her if I don’t go to this, I miss my life. I support him and now he is gone up there.”

SOT, Selma, Parisian (French): “What I liked were his films accompanied by his Muses Claudia Cardinale, Anna Karina, and in these films there was a certain carefree, joy in living there and I find that today my generation has lost a bit, and I really liked to find that in his films.”
