China: Final preparations underway at Chongli winter ski park ahead of pre-Olympics closure

Members of the press on Tuesday visited the ski and snowboard park at Chongli, Hebei province, set to host next year Beijing Winter Olympics, as the organisers were completing the last preparations, ahead of its early closure.
On January 4, the popular tourist site will officially close to the public to complete the final touches to the infrastructure as officials tighten curbs around venues over the spread of Omicron.
Despite an initially planned capacity of 6,000 spectators, the organisers will allow only around 1,000 visitors to the Olympics, set to kick off in February 2022.
