An Ariane 5 launch vehicle (Ariane Flight VA254) launched the Star One D2 satellite and the EUTELSAT QUANTUM satellite to Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO), a total payload of approximately 10,515 kg, from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) at Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on 30 July 2021 at 21:00 UTC (18:00 local time). EUTELSAT QUANTUM has an electronically steerable receiving antenna and operates in Ku-band with eight independent reconfigurable beams
