Drone footage shows how dunes have been encroaching on summer homes in the tourist destination of Praia dos Ingleses in Florianopolis, on Saturday.

The phenomenon is related to the speed and direction of the winds.

According to local authorities, several houses are structurally damaged and have been built irregularly in a Permanent Preservation Area (APP).

According to local reports, the Civil Defence prohibited the houses from being inhabited because the weight of the sand could cause them to collapse.
