I just ordered my first-ever hank of Zing-It line for tarp and hammock rigging. Yes, some might say I'm "behind the curve", but I do what I can. However, I also know many hikers and campers who have never heard of it. This was my first purchase from Dutch at Dutchwaregear.com, and of course it was a great experience.
Zing-It is an amazing type of cordage made of Dyneema fiber and is the lightest, strongest, and longest-lasting backpacking cordage option available today. It is actually an arborist line used for hanging climbing ropes in trees and was built to last. Its "Samthane" proprietary coating helps with abrasion resistance, and this cord does not stretch when wet--making it perfect for tarps. To learn more about this cordage and its amazing uses for backpacking, just Google it or search YouTube and you will find a ton of videos about it.
If you are looking to get just a few feet of Zing-It line instead of a 180' spool, I recommend purchasing it directly from Dutch because his prices are reasonable, his shipping rates are cheap, and he is very quick (this was in the mail the same day I ordered it). Go to his site here:
