How does the NEW YSL All Hours Foundation stick compare with the YSL All Hours Liquid Foundation? Well in this video hopefully I'll be able to show you. This is primarily a first impressions video, however over the week I'll be trying out this foundation in different ways and I'll update you below with my results. Hope you find this video helpful Don't forget to subscribe xxx UPDATE DAY 1 - No Setting Powder Used STICK FOUNDATION The stick foundation performed very well. It definitely didn't need setting in place although if you don't set it the foundation isn't as matte as it could be. Again the product was weightless on my skin, but it did settle into my drier areas today, and made my skin look a bit like fish scales if you looked up close. I still really like this foundation and will try it out again tomorrow. At this point though I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with extremely dry skin, however, this might be excellent for anyone with an oilier complexion. LIQUID FOUNDATION The liquid foundation was definitely not matte from the get go without the aid of a setting powder. It did manage to move into my fine lines, but to be honest not as much as I was expecting. It looked beautiful when I first put it on, but again, by the end of the wear test my skin looked rather oily, and even though I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone with oily skin, this might be a great version for anyone with drier skin. UPDATE 2 STICK FOUNDATION - Primer Day Today I applied an illuminating primer (Maybelline) to the skin before applying the stick foundation. It did give the foundation a 'slightly' more radiant finish but only slightly. Once I had used powder the foundation was once again VERY MATTE. If this is the look you'd like then this is an excellent foundation. It doesn't hydrate the skin but again it doesn't dry it out either....and it stays matte longer. I'm still unsure whether I would recommend this foundation to dry skin sufferers though. It's a tricky one. LIQUID FOUNDATION Today I applied a Mattifying Primer (Smashbox Mattifying Stick) to my skin before I applied the foundation. WOW! This made the foundation VERY MATTE, and it stayed VERY MATTE for a very long time. I think if you suffer with oily skin then this is definitely the way to go. I'm 8 hours in and my makeup still looks as fresh as it did when I first applied it. From someone who really doesn't like a matte foundation....I actually quite like it. UPDATE 3 - MY MUM STICK FOUNDATION This looked lovely on my mum's skin, but again, it's a lot less coverage than the liquid foundation. It looked extremely matte all day and managed to stay in place without moving into any fine lines. My Mum did say though that although she really liked it, she probably wouldn't buy it, as she prefers other foundations to this one. LIQUID FOUNDATION This looks more skin-like on my mum. She wears this sometimes when she needs a full coverage foundation, but she now prefers a more radiant look as she feels it's more flattering on her skin.
