Young fan presented with specially-designed Max-D Wheelchair

Monster Jam and personnel at Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS presented a one-of-a-kind Max-D replica wheelchair to a young fan on Saturday, June 9 at the Monster Jam event at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The recipient, 11-year-old Jonah, is a lifelong Monster Jam fan who attends shows with his family and chose Max-D for his wheelchair. The SOLIDWORKS team went to work, taking measurements and creating designs and prototypes. Utilizing their skill set and countless hours of unpaid labor, the team has set a goal of creating the “mini Max-D” to an exacting scale while creating an object light enough for wheelchair mobility. SOLIDWORKS partnered with the non-profit organization Magic Wheelchair, which coordinates the creation of special themed “costumes” for wheelchair-bound children. The organization, which started with one family creating a Halloween costume for their own child, has grown through the assistance of volunteers and supporting organizations. While many elaborate costumes have been built, this latest effort will be the first time a Monster Jam truck has been the goal.
