A Tour of the historic US navy submarine Torsk docked in the Baltimore, Md. Inner Harbor. The USS Torsk is a Tench class submarine that saw service during the second World War and the Cold War. It is most noted for sinking the last two Japanese ships that were sunk with torpedoes. This fascinating historic ship can be toured at the Baltimore Maritime museum. The Torsk could dive to 400 feet, cruise at 21 kts on the surface and had a maximum range of 12,000 miles. She was credited with sinking 3 ships during the war. This is a floating museum that is only accessed by a short but steep climb down and up a ladder. Once inside you can walk through the after torpedo room, maneuvering room, both engine rooms, crew berthing, crew mess, galley, radio room, control room, officers quarters, sonar and the forward torpedo room.
