Wood splitting with a maul...The Fiskars X27 super splitter

It's nice and cool today with temps not expected to get above 75. An excellent day for splitting the rounds I harvested over the weekend. Not sure what species this wood is from though. It is pretty straight grained but can be sorta fibrous and tough at times. It does have a pleasantly sweet scent to it and it's very dense and heavy. The tree was standing dead at the park and the bark pops off very easily. Overall it was fun to split!
