Women's Community Correctional Center - First Amendment Audit

After completing the Marine Corps base I decided to do an audit of the Women's Community Correctional Center, also known as WCCC which is also located nearby the base in Kailua, Hawaii. As you will see in this video, I had an encounter with a corrections officer that was not captured on film because he approached me from behind while the camera was turned off when I was moving it to a new location. This is an excellent example of why you should NEVER turn your camera off during an audit. Normally this would not have been an issue because I also wear a body cam as a backup that would be able to catch anything that the main camera missed. On this audit, unfortunately, I did not have my body cam with me so I was relying solely on the main camera for everything. One of the reasons that I am uploading this video is so that it can be used as a training tool for other auditors so that they do not make the same mistake that I made during this audit. Learn from my mistakes so that you do not repeat them on your audits. One corrections officer asked if I were "press" or not, when I did not answer his question that I was, he stated that I could not record the facility. None of the other officers said anything to me, other than him. He upset me by the attitude that he used when he approached me, so I am hoping that he sees this video, and gets upset with my taunting of him so that when I come back, he has the nerve to approach me again and tell me that I can't film the prison. _________________________________________________________________ This video is for informational and educational purposes only.
